Why Use Google Scholar?

  • Many students already search Google Scholar and this allows them to access Holt Library’s credible full text journal sources directly from the search results.

  • Google Scholar supports natural language searching, relieving some of the frustration students have finding articles in the various library resources.

  • Some library databases can be challenging to use for visually impaired students using screen reader technology and Google Scholar provides a more simplistic interface that works much better with a screen reader.

  • For added convenience, users can install a Google Scholar button browser extension and search directly from their browser toolbar.
