The Mission of REACH of Macon County is to eradicate domestic violence and sexual assault crimes in both Macon and Jackson Counties, through prevention, intervention, and educational services.

RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

We lead the state’s movement to end domestic violence and to enhance work with survivors through collaborations, innovative trainings, prevention, technical assistance, state policy development and legal advocacy.

Last year we served an average of 127 meals each day, and we distributed over a quarter of a million pounds of food.
1 in 6 adults and 1 in 4 children in WNC are food insecure.

The Community Table is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide nutritious meals to our neighbors in need in a welcoming environment. Since 1999, our vision has been that no one in Jackson County, NC goes to bed hungry. We are more than a soup kitchen, more than a food pantry. Through our partnership with MANNA Food Bank, and the with the ongoing support of our community, we are a powerful resource for those in need.

Meals are served on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4-6 p.m. Everyone is welcome and there is never a fee. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, so come enjoy a nutritious home-cooked meal.

Our food pantry provides groceries for home use (Jackson County, NC residents only, every 2 weeks) on the same days between 11am-6pm.

Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is a federal food assistance program (formerly Food Stamps) that helps low-income families. In North Carolina monthly allotments of FNS benefits are issued via Electronic Benefit Transfer cards (EBT cards). The purpose of FNS is to end hunger and improve nutrition and health. It helps eligible low-income households buy the food they need for a nutritionally adequate diet.
