College and Career Readiness Instructor Resources

Educational Opportunities offers students and community members connections to prepare for and succeed in college and/or the workplace. The department consists of six distinct areas that work cooperatively to meet the needs of all student learning.

Using Films on Demand database OFF CAMPUS

If you teach in a building that IS part of SCC's main campuses of Jackson, Macon, or Swain centers:

Log in to MySCC

  • Choose the "Library" tab
  • Choose NC LIVE and search

                       Find Films on Demand by

--searching NC LIVE for "videos"  OR

                          --under "Browse", choosing "Videos"

If you teach in a building that is NOT part of SCC's main campuses of Jackson, Macon, or Swain centers (you will do this without using the usual MySCC point of entry):

paste this URL into a browser or click this link (we recommend Chrome or Firefox) to directly access the Films on Demand database:  http://online.infobaselearning.com/Direct.aspx?aid=240802&pid=WE00

You will be asked to enter special credentials to log in (instructors only, not for student access). You will have to ask us for those on a case-by-case basis.

We're sorry that we can't just publish those credentials here, but neither the vendor nor the library want students to access the product this way. Students, if they have a MySCC account, can log in themselves using MySCC credentials, but since your job placement is not on a main campus, you have to use a different method of access. Call 828.339.4288 or email library@southwesterncc.edu to obtain the username and password.

NOTICE: Some buildings in which classes are held are not part of SCC's technology framework (they are outside the range of SCC's IP addresses) and your access may be limited. Further, some centers (Job Corps, for instance), do not allow access to certain websites. Contact SCC's IT HelpDesk at 828.339.4409 if you have difficulty accessing library materials.

If you encounter difficulties with the database itself (or any other library resource), library staff may be able to help you. Call us at 828.339.4288 or drop an email to library@southwesterncc.edu.
