ENG 112 Writing & Research

This guide shows you how to find books and peer-reviewed articles for your research papers.  It also gives information on the research process, plagiarism, and citations.

Your account at Holt Library is created when you register for classes at SCC. You will need an SCC student ID card or other valid picture ID to borrow materials from the library. 

• Obtain your SCC ID card at New Student Orientation or contact the Cashier's office, Balsam 170, or call at 828.339.4290
• Non-students can obtain a library card with us using this online form, OR email us at library@southwesterncc.edu
• Book checkout period is 4 weeks and students and faculty may renew items up to 2 times. 
• Lost or damaged books will be billed at the cost of replacement and must be paid at the Business Office on the Jackson Campus.
• Email us at library@southwesterncc.edu if we can find items for you

SCC students, faculty, and staff can utilize Western's Hunter Library and check out library books. 

Present your SCC ID card to register for a library account for book checkout.

Please note that WCU's online library resources are available for walk-in use only and cannot be used off-campus by non WCU students.
