As a friendly reminder, all library laptops, wifi hotspots, and calculators will be due Friday May 16, 2025. We will be open extended hours on Thursday 5/15/2025: 8:00am - 7:00pm, to accommodate after-hours returns.
Technology items may not be renewed or held from one semester to the next.
Please note that you will not be able to graduate, register for classes, view your grades, or receive your transcripts until your library technology items are returned (or cost of replacement is paid to the college). Students in Macon or Swain Counties may return any library items to either the Swain Center or the Macon SCC campus. Swain and Macon SCC campuses will NOT have extended hours for 5/15/2025.

Library technology lending for the Summer 2025 semester will resume Monday, 5/19/2025. All technology items are limited, and are loaned on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Journal of Appalachian Studies is a refereed (peer-reviewed) multidisciplinary journal published by the University of Illinois Press on behalf of the Appalachian Studies Association (ASA). It is the official journal of the ASA, a multi-disciplinary organization for scholars, teachers, activists, and others whose work focuses on the Appalachian region. The journal publishes articles of interest to scholars pertaining to Appalachia, especially but not limited to culture, ethnographic research, health, literature, land use, and Indigenous groups.
